Long tail of decisions
Everything you build here β economy, heroes, alliance relationships β carries into S2+. Season 1 is not a throwaway tutorial.
What is Grassland Season?
Season 1 is where every Last Z account begins. Community name: Grassland Season.
Unlike later themed seasons (Desert, Everfrost, Dinosaur, Moonlight), Grassland is the foundation period:
- First base and early economy
- Early hero roster
- Join or form an alliance
- Compete for territory on a new server
Season Tally
Season Tally scores account and alliance contributions across S1 and drives end-of-season rewards. City control is the backbone β treat it like early Glory-war economy training.
-
Cities
Main tally source: capture and hold map cities.
-
Tier matters
Higher-tier cities usually contribute more to alliance tally.
-
Consistency > spike
Steady control beats one last-day push.
Alliance tip
A few coordinated players holding cities all season out-earn a larger group that only pushes in the final days.
City capture & Capital
-
Capture
Rally troops Β· defeat NPC or rival holders.
-
Hold
Defense = offense for tally β holding keeps value flowing.
-
Capital
Biggest reward pool Β· heaviest contest.
Secure a perimeter of cities before a Capital push.
Alliance strategy (S1)
- Join early, join active β city coordination in week 1 beats recruiting in week 3.
- Call rally targets β solo rallies on contested cities fail; group holds longer.
- Protect weaker members β early accounts are fragile; shielding them keeps more tally contributors online.
Economy first
Have a working resource base before mass city commits β see also Other Guides for base/research tips.
Preparing for Season 2 migration
When S1 ends, a migration window often opens for S2. Optional, but competitive players usually migrate for fresher matchups and new mechanics.
Before the window:
- Spend resources into buildings, troops, research you want permanent
- Align with alliance: migrate together when possible
- Know your tier / passes in advance (plan migration slots early)
Don't scatter
Coordinated alliance migrations outperform friends splitting across random states.
